Technoir’s 18th Annual Christmas Party & Farewell to Colour

Technoir chalks up it’s 18th consecutive Christmas party while also saying goodbye to it’s home of the past 3 years.

2022 has been one of our busiest years to date, with what will be five outings throughout the year, delivering some top-notch dancefloor experiences for the Technoir faithful.

Colour has provided us with a fantastic space to do so; in fact it has been a wonderful residence for some of the hardest and strangest years of our long history. Unfortunately even the best of things must, at some point, come to and end and this Christmas we must say farewell to this wonderful party space.

Joining us for this final show in ‘The Pleasure Dome’, we are excited to welcome Technoir first timer Jayde Isabel to the line-up, alongside returning guests Apsarah and Qualé. As always Technoir residents Simon Slieker and Ranjit Nijjer will be on hand to steer the ship on this somewhat bittersweet occasion.

Somehow, even in the face of a global pandemic, Technoir has managed to not break with it’s now 18 year tradition of providing a place of celebration (or escape) on Christmas Day to those of the Techno persuasion, and we are so incredibly grateful and humbled to return to do it again this year.

2022 has been a lot for a lot of people this year, so why not come and commemorate its demise (or rejoice in having survived it) with a cathartic dance floor explosion??

These Christmas parties are always something special and we have no doubt this one will be one for the ages. Definitely one not to miss!

Line-Up:

Apsarah
Jayde Isabel
Qualé
Simon Slieker
Ranjit Nijjer

Technoir is back for another multi-level Techno extravaganza

We’ve braved through the winter months and now the warmth of spring is here.

The last few events we’ve held have been some of our favourite to date, with fantastic performances and a wonderful sense of connection on the dance floor from start to finish.

We’re very excited to welcome a great number of new artists to the stage at Technoir this event, from across the Techno spectrum.

Upstairs we have invited both Løst Relexion (Live) and VØIDPILOT (Live) to perform exciting live sets for us in what has become a fantastic space to showcase the many talented live electronic performers of this city.

Downstairs we are very happy to welcome DJs Ish Anja, syrup-E and Vini Martins, who is joining us all the way from Sydney. Joining them as always will be Technoir residents Simon Slieker and Ranjit Nijjer.

We’re so grateful for the support Technoir has received this year and can’t wait to share more Techno together again very soon!

Technoir returns to Colour for a streamlined Techno DJ extravaganza!

For the first time since making Colour our home in late 2019, we will be condensing proceedings to just one room of concentrated Techno goodness, and providing a stellar selection of DJs for your dancing pleasure.

Making their Technoir debuts this time around, we have none other than Kazuma Onishi and Neo joining us for the first time. Both DJs have a unique take on the more hypnotic end of Techno and we are very much looking forward to hearing what they serve up on the night.
Returning in a slightly different form to her last appearance, we are also very happy to welcome back Lara K., who will be playing a DJ set for us this time.

Lara has been exploring DJing lately and is really enjoying laying down great and diverse sets in line with fantastic live shows.
Joining these amazing artists will of course be Technoir residents Simon Slieker and Ranjit Nijjer.

We can’t wait to see you on the dance floor for a wonderfully cathartic night of dancing and connection!

Technoir’s Queen’s Birthday Eve Party 2022

After a 4 year absence, Technoir is returning to Queen’s Birthday Eve to host a sublime Techno party!

Once a year in and year out tradition, circumstances have put this date on the backburner for Technoir for quite some time now; but the planets have aligned this year and we couldn’t be happier!

There are many returning faces to this line-up but some have not graced our stage in a particularly long time.

Back at Technoir for the first time in 15 years, we are so incredibly over the moon to present Techno DJ master Ben Cromack, who will be showcasing his remarkable skills on the 1’s and 2s, 3’s, 4’s 5’s and 6’s! That’s right, you read correctly; Ben will be performing using two turntables and four CDJs, which he will use to weave a spectacular aural experience for the dancefloor.

Upstairs in our live performance space, we are so happy to welcome back the amazingly accomplished artist that is Jannah Quill. Former Technoir resident JK Roulé, who will be performing live for the first time in nearly 5 years, will also join the space upstairs, for an eclectic and no doubt acid-tinged live set.

Also returning to the DJ ranks will be many time Technoir visitor and Melbourne Techno mainstay, PWD. It’s always an absolute pleasure to have him come and contribute his considered Techno styling’s to proceedings and this time is sure to be no different.

Joining this cavalcade of electronic stars will of course be Technoir residents Dee Dee, Simon Slieker and Ranjit Nijjer.

If you’re a fan of all things Techno, this is definitely not one to miss!

Line-Up
Ben Cromack
Jannah Quill (Live)
JK Roulé (Live)

After a brief yet disheartening absence from the dancefloor, Technoir returns for 2022 with our mammoth Labour Day Eve party at Colour!

As we enter into our 18th year of parties, we are as committed as ever to bringing you the best Techno and Electronic artists Melbourne has to offer, in a space where music and connection is of the utmost importance.

Making their Technoir debut this time, we are very excited to welcome Dylab (Live) and L.S.S. (Live) to the stage of our live artist room upstairs. Dylab will be presiding over his epic all hardware set-up, which he uses to call all manner of Acid tinged Techno into existence. L.S.S. is a new project by the super talented Edward Richards and JXTPS that is also hardware based and seeks to be ‘crunchy, dirty and very live’.

Downstairs, we are very excited to have MTLDA joining us for the first time with her eclectic and thought provoking sounds alongside Technoir favourite Hyper Binary, who is returning to the Technoir stage for the first time in several years.

Technoir resident Dee Dee is also making a return after an absence of just over two years! Joining him will be the well-worn (but not worn out) residents Simon Slieker and Ranjit Nijjer.

These last two years have taught us how much we should value these amazing spaces of cathartic release and connection that we love to share with you all.

We hope you can join us this time and many times in the future.

Technoir’s 16th Annual Christmas Party

Posted by ranjittechnoir on February 20, 2021
Posted in: Uncategorized. Leave a comment

We honestly weren’t sure we’d make it here this year but thankfully Technoir’s Christmas tradition will mark its 16th consecutive event as we say ‘see ya’ to 2020!
It’s so exciting to be able to continue this Techno-centric Christmas ritual in the wonderful space of Colour, which has thankfully managed to weather the covid storm.
Things will definitely be a bit different this year, as we adhere to all the government guidelines relating to these sorts of events BUT we can dance again!
After such a long absence, it’s hard to believe we’ll be able to create a space for all of you to dance the night away, as we have done the last 15 years on Christmas night. Providing the dancefloor soundtrack for the night will be regular guests Qualé and DJ Kiti as well as Technoir residents Simon Slieker and Ranjit Nijjer. Making their Technoir debut to round out the line-up are Deen Ariff, Ripplefactor of Savage Art Productions, Dialect of Aura Productions, Emmymaie and Spectralias aka Enclave (Live) from the Machine stable of artists. This may be the best Christmas present we’ve ever had!
