Introducing Technoir on Area 3000, hosted by Ranjit Nijjer
The idea behind the show is pretty simple: techno is the starting point, but it’s not just about the records. It’s also about the people, the stories, the ideas, the parties, the memories, and the culture that sits around the music.
Some episodes will feature guest DJs and conversations with people connected to the scene. Others will be more focused on music, with track selections, commentary, and mixes from Ranjit.
The show is about techno – the music itself, and the people and ideas around it.
There will be plenty of music, of course, but also space to talk about where this music comes from, why it still matters, and what keeps people connected to it over time.
Guests will share their stories, influences, experiences, and mixes. Solo episodes will dig into tracks, artists, scenes, and different corners of techno old and new.
If you miss the live broadcast, all episodes will be uploaded to the Area 3000 SoundCloud, so you can listen back whenever it suits you.
You can also follow Technoir on Instagram and Facebook for episode updates, guests, tracklists, and other bits and pieces from the show.
Technoir is for anyone who loves techno, cares about the culture around it, or just wants to hear good music and good conversations from people who are still genuinely excited by it.
